Hannah Secher

Head Coach

"I'm Hannah Secher and I am Head Coach of Rugby Artistic Swimming Club. I coach everyone within the club, with a focus on the Junior/Senior Championships and Nationals Squad.  My route to coaching came through my love of the sport which I developed through being a swimmer with this club for 10 years. I'm a FINA A judge as well as member of the Swim England Artistic Swimming Leadership Team. I also hold National Judge, Swim England/IOS Tutor and Level 2 Coach status."

"My name is Linda and I have been involved coaching with the club for over 30 years. I hold my Level 2 Coaching Certificate and am a Level 3 Judge. My current focus is with the younger/introductory classes.  I really enjoy being a coach as I find it very satisfying to see the huge progress all swimmers make as they grow from being complete novices of the sport to performing in the bigger competitions."

Rob Walker

 Coach

"My name is Rob Walker and I am coach of the 12U B Squad. As most coaches, my daughter was involved with Artistic Swimming and after years of watching her swim I decided to get involved and become a coach myself. I hold my Level 1 Coaching Qualification and even though my daughter has ‘all grown up’ and no longer swims with the club, I have continued to help support as I really enjoy seeing the girls develop their early artistic swimming skills and improve.”

"I’m Maggie and as a mum of swimmers in the club, it felt good to offer something back and I really enjoy being involved in the training, especially when the squad are focusing on their team routine – it’s great to see them all working together.”

Lola Marsay

 Coach

"I’m Lola and have been a member of the club as a swimmer for over 9 years. I started coaching during lockdown, helping via Zoom with the beginner swimmers. I progressed with the support of other coaches and due to their enthusiasm, I also developed a passion for coaching, stopping swimming competitively to focus on coaching the 13/15 Div 1 Squad. I followed the Swim England Volunteer Program which led to me achieving my assistant coach qualification. I love the environment of coaching and seeing the swimmers’ progress.”

Diego Black

 Coach

"I’m Diego and I started coaching in 2019 because it was a great opportunity to get involved in the Club and learn more about Artistic Swimming. I now have my Level 1 Coaching Qualification and currently assist in coaching the 131415 A Squad. Being a coach is really rewarding. I enjoy helping the swimmers work towards their goals – as individuals and as part of the team – and always feel proud when they achieve those goals.”

“I’m Maisie and I used to be a swimmer at the club for around 10 years. In the last year I decided to return to the club and have recently gained my Level 1 assistant coach qualification. Currently I’m working with the 15-18 senior team and am absolutely loving it! It’s so exciting to see all the swimmers reaching their goals in and out of competitions”

Julie Bowler-Smith

 Coach

"I'm Julie. I joined the club as a parent many years ago and later became an athlete with the Masters team. I am still an athlete but also coach novice Masters as well as the Masters team who compete nationally and internationally. It is fantastic being part of a team of over 18s proving that artistic swimming is for all ages and abilities. The Masters athletes all value the benefits artistic swimming has on our physical and mental well-being. My favourite word in our training sessions is 'Again!'"

Sandra Anstruther

 Coach

"I am a Level 1 coach and, together with Julie, I coach and swim with our Masters team. My journey in the water began at the age of 8, and what started as a love for swimming soon evolved into a lifelong passion for artistic swimming. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of growing both as an athlete and as a coach, developing a deep appreciation for the unique challenges and rewards this sport offers. I particularly enjoy coaching and being part of the Masters squad as I have made lifelong friends and the sport enables us to travel the world together to take part in Masters competitions. "

"Hi, I’m Joy and I’m an assistant coach with the 12UB Squad, working alongside Rob and Hannah. I got into coaching due to my daughter’s love of the sport and I recently gained my Level 1 Artistic Swimming Assistant Coaching qualification. Although I don’t have a background in Artistic Swimming, I am a competitive speed Masters swimmer and have coached speed swimming in the past. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with team and helping them to achieve their goals."
